Technical Meeting – Blackwater, Blackwater International Coal Centre

BBUGS made a return to Blackwater for our second technical meeting of 2025!

At this event, Dr Peter Cain shared some of his experience in outburst conditions in a key note presentation. It was a very interesting presentation and we would like to thank Dr Cain again for sharing some of his learnings with the BBUGS community.

Yi, Scott, Jeff and Johannes also gave presentations on recent case studies, mining updates and ACARP research findings.

BBUGS would also like to thank Mammoth and Ensham Mines for allowing site tours before the meeting. These site tours are an important part of BBUGS meetings as well as a great way to share geotechnical knowledge and experience with fellow geotechnical engineers.

As always, you can find copies of these presentations on our website, under past events. The password for this page has been emailed out to the BBUGS members in the last meeting flyer. Please reach out to admin@bbugs.org.au if you would like to be added to the mailing list.
